As I’m sitting here listening to 90’s throwbacks & working on the last pieces of the June Music Issue for LosAngelesTimesMagazine I find myself in a state of melancholy. From the tram-like Disneyland subway rides, to the crews Thursday farmers market walks, it will greatly be missed. The angels have smiled upon me throughout my life (thanks Aunt Kim) and as a result I’d say my resume is pretty impressive for 22 years here on Earth. Although the jobs-could-have-been-future-careers have been wonderful & the people equally the same, none have made a greater impression on me than Mayor Rus. He is one of the most creative, eccentric, and humorous men I have yet to meet (right up my alley). I was fortunate enough to have this bi-coastal megaman of culture, art, and design as my mentor. Oh, and I can’t forget Brandon Palas. An imaginative male fashionisto beyond his time with the greatest wit (and my first friend here). I hope you stay on the WestCoast (best coast) and dont move back to NewYorkShitty. Nonetheless, as graduation quickly approaches and this chapter of my life comes to a close & I pack up for an adventure in another country, I’m happy to say I’ve been apart of some creative editorial magic/history. Los Angeles Time Magazine will be discontinued due to the lack of cash money and the wack ass economy so all of you Angelinos will have to find your dose of culture somewhere out in the interweb…It’s been real.
✌Special thanks & many mazels to you & your future endeavors: Nancy Clare (super talented editor & fellow valley girl), Rip Georges (creative director), Helene Goldsen(managing editor), Mayer Rus (design&culture editor), Hansen Smith (art director), Hannah Harte (photo editor), Raha Lewis (associate editor), Jonathan Brown( art&production coordinator), Brandon Palas (fashion editor), Bailey Shiffler (research), Cary Georges (assistant art director/subway buddy), & Michael Darling (editorial assitant).
This is Hannah Fraser.
This is Hannah as a mermaid.
Yep, as a mermaid. Hannah is an ocean activist, model, and performer. She travels the world, performing as mermaid and teaching people about the marine environment. Mermaid mythology has always been a fascination to Hannah and at age 9 she created her first tail. Now, she creates tails for herself and others.
Some people think it may be weird, but I think it’s really cool. I want my own tail now! Haha
Here are some more pictures of Hannah:
